Experience is the Greatest Teacher

I'm a teacher, and I'm proud to be a teacher, but become a teacher is not easy It always come to my mind, is everything what I taught my pupils, do they get it? It makes me worry all the time. But somehow, I know, they do not get fully what I taught. Even our brain unable to give 100% concentration at all time, and the most, it can only gives 100% concentration of not more than five minutes. Moreover, learning also involves memorization, and most of us know, memorization is not easy (it goes to me, I hate to memorize), that’s why as a teacher, I’ve been told that I need to expose to my pupils to the real things of what they learn as much as possible so that they can better and easy to grasp of what I taught. (It’s not easy to be a teacher) At the age of 26 now, I realized most of the things that I know and learned, I learned through experiences, especially things related to heart. Learning from people and books, can widen our knowledge, but learning from real situati...

Barbecue Night

The fishing last around three hours. We going back home around 5pm (my estimation, because none of us actually bring a watch). Cikgu Linda suggested that we doing barbecue so that we can eat with the pupils and other teachers and our friendly clerk, Mdm Magdelene. She helped us a lot. Thank you kakak. Even during the baebecue, she is the one who is doing a lot of work, including washed the fishes, and preparing barbecue place. No word can desribe the memorable night that we had. Too bad Sapok cannot join us. Cikgu Ibrahim also joined us in the barbecue. As words cannot describe what a night we had, a pictures will prove that night. Kakak who always helped us whenever we ask. thank you kakak.

Fishing Trip ( Eating Time)

After managed to catch many fishes, now it's time to eat. To our surprised, our pupils did not eat anything before going to this trip. At first I was angry, and then I was sympathetic with them. They are really eager to go to this trip and that's way they changed as fast as they could and hurry back to our place so we can get early. Moreover they said that we are the first teacher that actually going with them to catch fisg at that place. I'm so touched. Luckily we cooked some rice for the pupils. As me and Linda has already eaten, we only eat the fish. Here are some pictures during the eating session. For me, this was the first time I ate fresh fish that just was catched from the river and it more memorable because it were catched by my own pupils. It look delicious right? It's very delicious.

Fishing Trip ( Catching Time)

Wow, me and Linda was so amazed with so many fishes that our pupils managed to catch. It so wonderful. Here's the picture and there is me too. :((

Fishing Trip (3rd part)

Not much of writing, but picture to show how great this experiences. A note : I found this experienced as very meaningful and great because somehow, I learn so much about them and from them, so much. The journey took around half an hour with two scary bridges. It's not normal bridges, it just a branch of tree and when you walked, you are hoping and praying that you will not fall. and some bridge, if you like me, scared, you prefer crawling than walking. Ok these are the pictures of the location that we went for fishing. But we are not using a normal fishing way , but we , not we, my pupils, were using a net. Me and Linda only seeing.

Fishing Trip ( 2nd Part)

Ok, I've got Linda's permission to post her picture. Then we move from teachers' quarters to the fishing destination. My pupils said the journey will takes around 30 minutes. The place that we heading to is called Red River. Usually when we going to jungle, we will use appropriate shoe and bring necessary equipments, but I just bring a 500 ml sky juice, a lighter, and a basket bag. I wear a sliipery sandals, as I ahve no right shoes. Guess what what happened to me during the journey. My pupils said we should use a right shoes, but as determined we are, we don't care. We still proceed with the journey. I do have a sport shoes, but the shoes is old and rotten, so I chose to wear my slippery sandals. And the journey starts. i don't know why, but these pupils walked really fast. I don't know what they are chasing. Guess who the last in the row? Me. I walked rather slow because the road is really slippery and I don't want to fall. And something astonishing happen...

Fishing trips (1st episode)

On 8th May, 2009, Linda a fellow teacher asked me to go for fishing trips with the pupils. At first I was shocked, because why she wants to go for fishing trips? It will be tiring and scary. Well, at least for me. But seeing Linda enthusiasm, I agree. I asked my pupils whether the river will be far, and some pupils said far, while some said no. And then I know. Those who said far, they are jealous and wanted to join the told me that we can only bring five pupils only, and all boys, because we don't know what kind of danger awaits us. Moreover, its not us will lead the trip, but the pupils. But, as a teacher, safety will be our first and foremost consideration. Then it decided. We will go for the fishing trip with only five pupils, and Linda and me. We will start our journey around 12.50 non, after the pupils went home, lunch and us finished praying. It's Friday, so the school end quickly. The pupils told us to bring rice, because we might feel hungry during the journey. This ha...
