First week of school

School has started since last Monday. The teacher is still in holidays mode. Just kidding. With school open, many things need to be done. And as mid year examination was held just before the break, so, during the holidays, I’ve been checked and marking my pupils mark. I’m teaching English year 1, all classes, Bijak, Pintar and Rajin, and science for year 2 Pintar. My feelings about the result? Mix. But overall, kind disappointed as many pupils unable to answer the questions correctly. Next week, on July 2nd, school open day will be held. As a class teacher for year 2 Pintar, I’m looking forward to meets my pupils parents and talk about their children. This week has been a very busy week for me and my colleague. Participated in a the village program, and my job to create a blog for the village. Visit the blog http://tanjungsedili.blogspot.com I know now, that the duty as the teacher not only at the school, but need to try to contribute to the place that I work in, as ...

School Holidays and Marking Pupils Examination Paper….

School holidays is nearly over. Cannot imagine how time flies. It’s been nearly two weeks already, and yet still some works the teacher have yet not done, that is marking pupils examination paper. Well, we only have two weeks’ vacation, and various activities to do, no wonder the work have not finished. Well, that is just excuses, isn’t? The school holidays started from 5 to 20th June. I got to meet Singapore teachers, and they said that they are having four weeks of school holidays. Ohh, how envy. The mid year examination was done on 1st to fourth of June, just before school holidays. The teachers are required to submit the pupils mark on the first week after the school open. Hmmm, then, I should not do any more procrastination and need to start marking those papers. Hopefully my pupils will do well. Fighting. !!!

Happy Teacher's Day

This is my second year as a teacher. A profession that I adore, and I admired until recently. Never I thought that being a teacher is actually not an easy task. Patience is being tested all the time, endurance is seeking all the time, or else I'm not able to teach. This profession has taught me so many things and makes me see so many things, wonderful, pleasant and vice versa. I learn to know myslef better through this profession, the true me. That actually I need to learn to be more patience, stronger and be more sociable (the thing I am bad). Learning to be more creative, be hardworking and ending my procrastination habit. So many things I learn. I also very fortunate to experience different culture, meeting new people, staying in a place that I never thought I will arrive, and experiencing the bitter sweet of life. It marvellous of what I've been experiencing for just two years of being a teacher. Teaching is not an easy job (well, nothing is easy), but it so rewarding. S...

My Pupils (1)

My current student I should now blogging about my pupils. This is the pictures of my current pupils. I’m their home class teacher. It was different from what I experienced in Sarawak. In Sarawak there are only 7 to 9 pupils in a class, but here that are more than 30 pupils. At first I felt really hard and difficult to manage the pupils, and it hard to scream all the time. Well, scream in here for the attention to make sure the pupils heard what I’m teaching them, and not solely to angry at them all the time. For me they are cute, adorable pupils, but at times, they really getting on my nerve. One time, one of my pupil put his foot print on my notice board, and I am really mad at that pupils. Its the second time I redo the notice board, even though it wasn’t pretty, but still, I made it. It cost money and times, and saw what my pupils did, I have no other option but to send reminder to him not to do again. As I just got a new camera, well, my old camera, damaged because of my...

My Great Friend

I guess I am a lucky person, because whenever I went or go, I will meet a great person that will help me to go through many things, that help me experienced so many new things and teach valuable experiences about life. When I was in Sarawak, I met this wonderful woman, kak Magdelene, she is loud, funny, direct but very helpful and nice. She not stingy at all, whether on help, laugh or direct confrontation she also can do. She is multitasking, not only capable of her work, but she can cook very great meal, cut people’s hair nicely, and planting too, except she cannot drive. She is a very strong woman. Kakak is so nice. She cooked for us hundred of times. I miss her cooking She is the clerk at my previous school. I am thankful, I met her. I also her daughter teacher, Karen. Very active little girl. My previous school are Ibanese village, but kaka Magdelene is Kayan. I’ve heard she talked in Kayan, its like a new language for me.  This is a picture of us. I miss Kak magdel...

Teacher, may I go to toilet?

This week is a bit relax  for me as pupils are having test. But after today, so many works awaiting for me to do. Of course, I have to mark pupills test and prepare for the week ahead. So many works, so procrastination is not an option. Today I enter year 1 Bijak class. I'm their English teacher. As I  mentioned earlier that this week pupils are having test, so I'm not teaching them anything heavy. So today, I taught my pupils to ask permission to go toliet in English. As i'm threatening my pupils by telling them that I will not allow them to go toilet if they ask in Malay, so, the pupils showed great enthusiasm in learning the phrase "Teacher, May I go to toilet, please?" After drilling for a few times, I called out a few names and sees if they able to say it out loud. There few hands up to show their ability, but what this particular pupil did make me smile. Instead of waiting for her turn, she directly sees me and said the phrase. She put the wentence into ...

A new place

My application to move to home state has been approved, and beginning 2010, I’ll be a teacher at my hometown, in a place call Kota Tinggi, Johor. From Sarawak to Kota Tinggi, I felt very happy at the beginning, but then I started to feel that I might have make a wrong decision. I miss my pupils dearly and at times I wish that I could take back my application. I learn, I should be strong, but I too weak to stand up and only followed what people around me are doing. I am person who believes that everything happens for a reason and that must be something good from anything that happens to me. But now, I have to move on. Thankful now that I am closer to my parents and will able to take care of them as I’m the only daughter and the youngest they have. It so hard to adjust to a new place. But as there are so many things to do, I don’t have time to indulge in a misery feeling that I have, which I think it is good, so i do not cope up with sadness too much. My new school located near beach and...
