UPSR Sample Essay 4 - Saving a drowning boy

Example 1


          Siew Keng is my bosom friend. She is twelve years old. She is a hardworking and helpful girl. Her hobby is swimming.
          Last Tuesday, Siew Keng was walking home alone from school. On her way, she heard a sound of cries. The person also was asking for help. Siew Keng saw a boy was struggling in the river.
          Immediately, Siew Keng jumped into the river. She pulled the boy up to the riverbank. Then, she brought the boy home. The boy's mother was thankful to Siew Keng for helping her son.
          The next day, at school, the teachers praised Siew Keng. On the Children's Day, Siew Keng was awarded a trophy and prize by the Prime Minister's wife. Siew Keng felt happy because she able to help the boy and she also got a prize too.

Siew Keng, who is my neighbour, is a kind and helpful girl. She is always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in trouble even if they are strangers.
                     One fine day, Siew Keng was walking home from school. She had just finished her extra classes. As she passed a small bridge, she heard cries for help coming from behind. She glanced towards the sound and saw a young boy was struggling in the river.
                     Without any second thought, Siew Keng jumped into the river and swam to the boy. She grabbed and pulled him to the river bank. The boy had passed out but luckily he was safe and sound. A few minutes later, he regained his consciousness. Then, Siew Keng helped to carry him home. His mother was surprised to see her son drenched. She was really thankful to Siew Keng for saving her beloved son.
                     The next day, when Siew Keng went to school, the Headmaster called her up to his office. The boy’s mother had informed him of her brave act. She was praised by her friends and teachers. During the annual Children’s Day, Siew Keng was awarded a trophy and some money by the Prime Minister’s wife. Her parents were really proud to have a daughter with a heart of gold. She was the role model for her peers and siblings.
